I want to point out the different ways to stay connected. I have a few blogs I follow that I have to bookmark, since they're not followable on Google or Facebook. I hate that.

I'm Jessica, a 31 year old Coast Guard wife, and mother to four little girls.
I've been married to the Sailor since 2001. He is a long time member of the U.S. Coast Guard, and has been deployed for the majority of our relationship.

We have four daughters: Gwen {2003}, Bella {2003}, Anna {2010}, and Margo {2013}.

We move a lot :

Honolulu, Hawaii                  2001-2005
Chicago, Illinois                    2005-2009
Cape May, New Jersey         2009-2010
Boca Raton, Florida             2010-2011
Plano, Texas                          2011-2013
Cape Cod, Massachusettes  2013 - ?

This blog is about sharing interesting, and not-so interesting details of our life and children. I'm also an over-sharer on relationship issues. My marriage is not perfect, and you'll hear all about it on here.

My Parenting Style

I cloth diaper, until it's inconvenient (night time and leaving the house)
I don't breastfeed, although I've tried...sort of.
I'm not an amazing cook or crafty mom, but I feed my kids well and keep a nice home.
I drink coffee until 10 and pour a glass of wine at 3.
I send my kids upstairs at 7 PM to play. The downstairs is for adults in the evenings.
I believe in structure and a tight schedule.
I'll also pull my kids from school on a Monday to go to the Zoo for no reason.
If you're a repeat offender, or wildly disrespectful, you will get spanked between the ages of 2 and 9.
I always look at my kid's behavior first, but if I find out they're being victimized in some way I flip the bitch switch fast. This unfortunately includes bullies during sporting events.
I'm a little bit overprotective and annoyingly safety conscious.
Little girls should wear t-shirts and jeans as much as possible.
You will eat what I cook.
You will have chores.
You will look out for each other. If I find out you didn't, you're grounded.
You will stay the hell away from boys.
You will tell the truth, even if it means you're going to get in trouble. Lying triples the punishment.
You will greet people that come into our home and address them when they leave. Every time. Even family.

Wow. I can see how one of the twins looks sooooo much like you. That's wild! I love your parenting style. I pretty much agree on everything you wrote, except for the cloth diapering. I had my daughter almost nine years ago. Wasn't really into it and with the break-up of my partnership with her father, that left me alone without a washing machine in my apartment. Do I regret it? Not really. I didn't breastfeed, either but darn it, I tried. No biggie. It's how we raise 'em to be loving responsible citizens of the world that counts. Congrats on the move to Cape Cod. I'm from NY and Cape Cod is beautiful. Go there often. :)
