It's been quite a day in our house. The morning was uneventful, but busy. Funny how that can happen with a toddler. You're running around like a chicken with your head cut off, while a little spider monkey on a sugar high climbs you like a jungle gym, and yet you look around and aren't actually accomplishing anything. I finally gave up and started getting Anna ready for a bath so that I could relax, when the phone rang and it was the Sailor. He was unusually perky so I started to unload, about nothing really...my laptop is acting up again, I didn't sleep last night, Anna thinks my pregnant belly is a trampoline... It didn't occur to me to wonder why he was calling at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning. I was just glad he called. He told me to go ahead and pick out a Macbook to deal with my laptop issues. Tears of relief and appreciation started to collect in my eyes, although I didn't shut up. I kept rambling about my frustration with my stupid laptop and assuring him that Anna wasn't misbehaving, just being physically demanding.
This little beauty is being delivered next week. I'm already in love.

Then he said "why don't you sit down", and I replied that I was about to once I got Anna in the bathtub, and that I'm sure I just need a minute to decompress. Then he said "no really, you should sit down". Cue the waterworks. I knew immediately what he meant. He had news about our transfer. He got orders. Between sobs I said "wait, don't say it yet. Just give me a minute." He laughed and told me it's not bad news, and I asked him to stop talking. I told him it's my hormones and I just need to cry for a minute so I can process what he tells me. He laughed again, gave me a second to calm down, and started talking. It's verbal, so we don't want to announce it until it's on paper, which could be a few weeks. We know from experience that orders change all the time. It's enough to start gathering information, and mentally preparing for a new adventure though. I'll give you a little tease in the mean time...
Gorgeous, right? I'll spill the beans officially as soon as it's on paper. I'm drained!

AHHH! I am so excited for you. I've been a reader (and fellow Coastie wife) for a while. If you need info about that locale...please feel free to email me at MrsIndependentBlog at gmail dot com. That's where I'm from! I've also experienced it from a "local" standpoint and being a CG family there :) I'm glad you got somewhere you wanted.
Exciting!!! I believe that is the town next to where I grew up :) I'm sure you have investigated, but if you need a "local"'s opinion of things or have any questions about the area.. let me know. I'm a long time reader, occasional commenter and fan of your writings.
